Need Help? Here’s What People Usually Ask
Why are mushroom liquid culture syringes better than spore syringes?
Faster Growth: Liquid culture syringes have live mycelium that grows quickly. This means they can spread over the growing medium faster than spores, which need extra time to start growing after they germinate.
Higher Success Rate: With spores, there’s an inherent risk of contamination. Liquid cultures, if prepared and stored correctly, are generally cleaner and can be injected directly into the substrate without as much worry about introducing contaminants.
Predictability: Spore syringes contain a mix of genetic material that may vary in terms of growth speed, yield, and potency. Liquid cultures, however, are made from a specific, cloned strain, which allows for more consistent results in terms of mushroom size, shape, and other characteristics.
Ease of Use: Since liquid culture syringes already contain actively growing mycelium, they are generally easier to work with. You can inoculate a substrate with fewer syringes and see visible growth sooner than you would with spores.
